From Boarding Passes to Candle Jars: How Travel Inspires the Candles We Create
When people discover The Candle Grove, one of the questions I'm asked most often is, "Where do your fragrance ideas come from?"
The answer is simple: they come from a lifetime of memories.
Although I'm the founder of The Candle Grove, my full-time career has been in travel. For the past 19 years, I've worked as a travel consultant, helping people plan everything from dream holidays and honeymoons to family adventures and once-in-a-lifetime escapes.
Travel has always been more than a job to me—it's a passion. Over the years, I've had the privilege of visiting incredible places, experiencing different cultures, and collecting memories that have stayed with me long after the suitcase was unpacked.
Those memories eventually found their way into candle making.
A Fragrance Can Take You Anywhere
Have you ever caught a familiar scent and instantly been transported back to a particular moment?
Perhaps it's the fresh sea air reminding you of a favourite coastal walk, the comforting aroma of warm vanilla taking you back to home baking, or the crisp scent of pine that brings back memories of a winter getaway.
Scent has an incredible ability to connect us to places, people, and experiences. That's exactly what I wanted The Candle Grove to capture.
Many of our candles begin with a memory rather than a fragrance.
Sometimes it's a peaceful morning overlooking the sea. Sometimes it's wandering through colourful markets, strolling through gardens in bloom, or enjoying a quiet evening watching the sunset after a day of exploring somewhere new.
Those moments become the inspiration behind the fragrances we create.

One of the things I love most about travel is the feeling it leaves you with.
You can't always revisit a destination whenever you want, but you can recreate the atmosphere it gave you.

People often ask how I balance being a travel consultant with running a candle business.
The truth is, the two complement each other perfectly.

As a travel consultant, I help people make unforgettable memories around the world. Through The Candle Grove, I hope to help bring those feelings home, one candle at a time.
